About Us

The Struthers Watchmakers workshop and studio was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife partnership of master watchmaker and antiquarian horologist, Craig and Rebecca Struthers.

Since then, the Struthers have won over a dozen accolades and featured on television, radio, and press both at home and around the world. They have been recognised for their work towards the preservation of the traditional art and science of watchmaking.

Both respective experts in their own fields, the skills of each of the Struthers complement each other perfectly. Their respective specialisms create a balance of historical knowledge and technical craftsmanship.

English Watchmaking

Their family-run workshops specialise in the continuation of traditional watchmaking through the handmaking of parts, use of heritage tools and machinery, and traditional watch case making in precious metals.

The workshops and studio combine over 40 years of the Struthers’ experience in vintage and antique watch restoration with award-winning design and research. Between Craig and Rebecca, they have studied and qualified in watchmaking, goldsmithing, silversmithing, fine art, gemmology, and the history of design. This rare combination of skills and experience allows them to bring artisanal watchmaking into the 21st century.

Their first completely in-house movement took the Struthers back to the basic foundations of traditional watchmaking. The nickname that referenced their creative process stuck, and now Project 248 is evolving into its Second and Third Editions.

It took the Struthers over ten years to reach the point of making their own watches. In that time, they completed several other bespoke and tailor-made pieces which we remain incredibly proud of. Here are a few of those watches.
