The Factory Next Door

Rebecca and Craig recently had the pleasure of appearing on The Factory Next Door podcast, which has been released today. Host Steve Duke joined them both and Archie at the workshop to discuss our machines and creative process. The podcast series takes listeners behind the scenes to discover some of the incredible things being made in Britain.

In the episode, we talk about our (largely accidental) journey into horology and what it takes to make mechanical watches using traditional tools and methods in our workshop in Leek, Staffordshire.

The conversation ranges from vintage lathes and the value of analogue timekeeping, to why a simple sheet of white A4 paper still matters. We also reflect on the growing demand for our work, the realities of a long waiting list, and our ongoing efforts to balance quality with scale.

It was a particular pleasure to meet host Steve, who has also created a beautiful illustration of one of our 248 watches for the show. If you’re curious about how and why we do what we do, we hope you’ll enjoy listening. You can find the episode on Spotify via The Factory Next Door podcast.

Below you can see the illustration as well as a couple of photographs Steve took whilst with us at the workshop.
