Portraits of Watchmakers
A little while ago Rebecca and Craig were photographed and Rebecca interviewed for something we're glad to see out in the world: Portraits of Watchmakers, a linen-bound book pairing portraits with conversations about the field, and the lives behind it.
It is the work of a small independent press making beautiful, artisanal books, brought into being by readers themselves. It's now live on Kickstarter, and well worth a look (and support). Kickstarter backers receive the books for an exclusive early-access price, which will be unavailable once the books hit shelves. The Kickstarter campaign will run until the end of July.
Platonic Press is a small independent publisher in London, making linen-bound portrait books for curious readers. These books are carefully crafted to be pored over and cherished.
Platonic was founded by Minco van der Weide, a photographer and filmmaker known for his interviews and portraits of leading thinkers, scientists, and artists. Platonic Press is the independent publishing house in which he collects his work into books.
