We’ve been even busier in the workshop, where the second revised edition of our in-house wristwatch, Project 248, has been taking shape.
Its case will have a slightly smaller diameter of 38mm compared to the first edition’s 39.5mm, but two essential components will remain – its English lever escapement and the Breguet-inspired parachute shock setting.
An additional refinement will be the incorporation wolf’s tooth gearing in the winding mechanism which will be visible through a small inspection window in the top plate of the movement. Associated with some of the finest independent watchmakers out there, it will be a beautiful touch as well as a nod to the history of our field. The wolf’s tooth design has been in use for well over a century.
We are currently developing the parts, including our new parachute design you can see in these drawings, and look forward to sharing photos of the first movements as they come together over future months.
